What if I told you a single number can change your life. It can give set parameters to your financial goals that will set you up to retire much sooner than you ever thought you could. I think that you will be amazed once you learn to calculate your retirement number. We all need an end game. This is it – this is how you win the game. It’s the final score. So grab yourself a beverage of choice, high-5 your neighbor, fist bump your dog, and jump on the financial freedom train.
Without your retirement number, you have no purpose in what you are doing. You are wandering around with no end in sight, hoping that you make it to retirement in one piece. This, my friends, is not a plan.
I will typically ask millennial’s what they want out of retirement and many say “I want to be a millionaire”. While this is an attainable goal, they don’t know the “why” behind their goal. Is it because you can live off the 4% rule ($40,000 a year)? Do you want that million dollars to start a business? You need to understand where you want to go and why you have a specific goal. I am going to show you the steps to finding your retirement number.
